Who Is Luis Rosa

SGT Luis Rosa-Valentin, the son of a career military soldier, is a 2001 graduate of Meade Senior High School. He lost both of his legs, left arm and hearing two days before his 25th birthday in an April 21, 2008, roadside bomb explosion while he was leading a patrol along a dangerous road east of Sadr City in Baghdad. As he continues his recuperation, SGT Rosa-Valentin serves as an inspiration to those around him. SGT Rosa-Valentin is thankful to the many charities that helped him and the other soldiers during their hospitalization at Walter Reed. This tournament is one way in which we can honor the contributions of soldiers and of one of the many charities that serve injured soldiers.
